Jimmy King

Jimmy was born on October 2, 1956.  After high school he worked as a sheet metal brake operator at C&C Fabricators in Lacey's Spring.  I remember Jimmy as a polite, shy, person who preferred not to draw attention to himself.  He loved life and he was always eager to help family and friends.  He married Susan Walker and they had a daughter named Amanda.  Tragically, Susan died in a house fire and Jimmy was left to raise Amanda on his own.  Years later Amanda married and had three daughters.  The youngest daughter, Ryleigh, was born with a birth defect and, after an extended stay in the hospital, passed away.  I don't think Jimmy ever got over it and the stress and sadness may have contributed to his death. On June 12, 2004 he died of a heart attack at the age of 47.  He is greatly missed.  ~ Written by Sherrie Jackson Briscoe
