Daniel Wayne McNeal, 61 of Arab died Sunday, September 1, 2019 in the V. A. Medical Center, Birmingham.
Danny was born April 13, 1958, the son of Glenn O. Jr. and Cherie A. Horner McNeal. He was an Eagle Scout, Troop 60 and a graduate of Arab High School, Class of 1976, lettering twice in football for Arab High and was voted All-County Defense. After graduation he served in the United States Navy with Honor and Courage aboard the Nuclear Attack Submarine the USS Aspro. He was also a Professional Commercial Carpenter. His hobbies included golf, playing guitar, an avid lifelong reader and a Alabama Football and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his parents: Glenn and Cherie McNeal of Arab; three brothers and their family: Michael and his wife, Jane and nephew, Michael, Jr.; Steve and his wife Laura, niece, Raegan and nephews, Logan and Jacob; Tom and his wife, Kerrie, nieces, Caroline, Olivia and Katherine; niece: Amanda (McNeal) Cole and husband, Jesse and great niece, Kaitlin; niece: Tammy (McNeal) Willis and husband, Greg and great niece, Josie and great nephew, Sam; he is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Gober Funeral Chapel, Pastor Steve West, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Cole, Greg Willis, Ron Hyatt, Kevin Gross, Tim Holloway and Keith Hawkins.
