Clifford Samuel Reed, 58, of Vestavia, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 6, 2016, at his home with his family at his side after a brave two-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Sam was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford S. Reed, Sr. and Helen Johnson Reed. He is survived by his wife, Susan Reed; son, Josh Reed; daughter, Haley Brooks (Jermile); grandchildren, Caleb, Aiden and Hunter Brooks; brothers, John Reed (Paulette), Mack Reed (Kathy); sister, Pamela Young and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loyal Golden Retriever, Gulliver. Sam was born in Arab, Alabama. He received his bachelor's degree from Auburn University in 1980 and was currently employed as Vice President-Sales and Production at MidSouth Aggregates. He was deeply passionate about his family, friends and Auburn University. He was so very proud of his children. He was a supportive and loving husband, father and father-in-law. He displayed such joy in attending any activity he could that involved his grandchildren, whether it be an athletic event or a program at school or church. He was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Shades Mountain Baptist Church Conference Center on Monday, July 11 at 11 A.M. followed by a Celebration Service at 1 P.M.
